In Machakos County Assembly members, the motion to impeach Machakos governor, Alfred Muta was tabled for alleged misappropriation of funds and also ‘sitting’ on his work, with the governor represented by his lawyer, Wilfred Nyamu.
The tabling was not smooth with chaos erupting with Tom Lussa, who is an ally to Mutua, was roughed up by anti-Mutua MCAs forcing the Sergeant-at-Arms to whisk him out of the Chambers.
The debate on impeachment motion against the Governor suffered a setback with 32 MCAs skipping the debate. The MCAs are reported to be out of the country with reports indicating that the governor had offered them a foreign treat.
The move was seen as a move to technically disrupt the flow and interfere with the possibility of the motion emerging a success.
