An aspirant eying for the Narok North Member of Parliament, Brian Lemayian is calling on politicians to preach peace during the campaign season to avoid causing division among the residents. Lemayian who spoke in Narok town observed that the county was a cosmopolitan area where over five communities have coexisted peacefully for a long time hence urged leaders not to divide the locals based on their tribal backgrounds.
He quoted a famous quote by the immediate former Narok Peace Association Chairman late Joseph Pareiyo, ‘It is not enough to speak about peace, you must believe in it and it’s not enough to believe in it but also to work towards it’. The aspirant asked those vying for various seats not to incite the voters against other leaders but called on them to allow all aspirants a chance to sell their manifesto to the residents. He observed that booing aspirants before listening to them was unethical, adding that some leaders who are little known could be having a better plan for the nation than those who are too vocal.
