Arsenal set to ‘tie’ Wenger at the club

The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has entered the final year of his contract at Arsenal.

However, speculation, whether this would be his last year at the club, keeps on growing but the Frenchman choose to remain quiet over his future.

The Emirates faithful, however, remain split on whether he should remain in charge of the club having only won two FA Cups in the past 11 years.

Major shareholder hints at stay

During Annual General Meeting, Arsenal major shareholder  was not clear whether there were plans underway to replace Wenger.

‘It’s very hard. He’s a great manager. He’s been a wonderful influence on the club. We are all very high on Arsene. We are top of the table right now,” Stan Kroenke said.

‘I know a number of (sports team) owners that are very successful that say the same thing – the hardest thing to do is be consistently competitive at the top of the league.

‘Arsene has always done that and Arsenal has always been in that position. We have always been competitive. We may not always win the things we want to win. We are very focused on winning the league. Arsene’s been consistently at the top and I will tell you – it’s very, very hard to do if you look at sports.’

After the club’s AGM meeting, Stan Kroenke expressed his desire to keep the tactician at the Emirates beyond the extent of his current deal and believes he is STILL the man to take the club forward.

“We all recognize the fantastic contribution Arsene Wenger has made”, said the American.

”He continues to have huge energy, passion, and desire. We are confident in his ability to take us forward.”
