Five individuals have been apprehended by detectives from the Nairobi Regional Headquarters and its surrounding areas, suspected of orchestrating fraudulent schemes related to overseas job recruitment.

The individuals in custody have been identified as Nick Van Postal, Samuel Marigi, Patrick Wangai, Susan Oluoch, and Christine Muthoni Wangechi.

Their arrest follows a collaborative effort between law enforcement and information provided by vigilant members of the public, who reported suspicious activities linked to two recruitment agencies: Alhanawa Jobs and Supply Link Ventures Limited. As a result of this timely intervention, approximately 1000 jobseekers were shielded from falling victim to financial exploitation.

According to a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), preliminary investigations have uncovered evidence suggesting that the National Employment Authority had previously flagged the recruitment operations conducted by these agencies as fraudulent.

Despite the successful apprehension of five suspects, law enforcement officials are actively pursuing three additional individuals who managed to evade capture. A concerted effort is underway to locate and bring them to justice.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activities or agencies to the authorities.

Furthermore, individuals are encouraged to utilize the designated hotline number, 0800722203, to report any instances of suspected fraudulent behaviour related to job recruitment.
