The Carabao Cup took the centre stage last night with teams recording varied scores. Arsenal were flying high scoring five goals past Nottingham Forest.
New recruit Gabriel Martinelli broke the deadlock for the Gunners in the31st minute before Rob Holding scored his first goal since recovering from a 10-month injury.
Joe Willock added a third goal after being set up by full-back Hector Bellerin. Reiss Nelson made it 4-0 before Martinelli added his second in injury time to give Unai Emery charges the victory.
In other results Watford stunned Swansea 2-1, Everton winning 2-0 against Sheffield Wednesday, and Tottenham playing to a barren draw against league two side Colchester while Leicester won 4-0 away to Luton.
