BARINGO: Flower farms reap big on Valentine’s Day

Horticulture industry is reaping big this Valentine season as most flower farms register high sales .
With favouring climatical conditions last year which  resulted to high yields and quality flowers , the farms have taken advantage of the season to sale stock to lovers around the world with most demand coming from Europe countries.
According to Molo River Roses General Manager Andrew Wambua , the company started supplying millons of flower stems both for local and international market since late January.
With the season setting in the most sort after flower is the ‘madam red’ which is on a higher demand added Wambua.
Clement Chesang , a flower vendor in the East African market said the there is boom in the business as most demand comes from Uganda and Tanzania countries.
Being a day to celebrate love , flower is a sign  of love where lovers gifts themselves to mark the day.
