As the world celebrate blood donation week ,there is an outcry nationally owing to blood deficiency as many Kenyans shun away donating blood.
In marigat sub county hospital,Baringo south,their is crisis at the hospital as the blood bank runs empty forcing those seeking blood the pain of being transferred to Nakuru,or Eldoret.
Marigat Subcounty Hospital one of the main hospital for referral that deals with survivors of bandit attack and malaria victims,succumb due to lack of blood.
According to the hospital Administrator Philip Kamau,said many people shun donating blood as they fear to be tested,he called upon locals to embrace blood donation to ensure lives are saved in-case of emergency
Baringo South MP Charles Kamuren called upon the County Government to invest in blood banks in order to save lives in-case of emergency when they arise.
