BARS AND ENTERTAINMENT JOINTS FAULTING SET COVID-19 GUIDELINES

Central Region Commissioner Wilfred Nyagangwa has warned bars and entertainment joints in the region faulting the set Ministry of Health Covid-19 guidelines that they risked closure.

Speaking in Nyandarua when he oversaw the distribution of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination papers, Nyagangwa noted that it was vital for the joints to follow the set guidelines of social distancing, wearing of face masks and closing at the stipulated timelines.

Nyagangwa decried that some of them were not adhering to set guidelines warning that they risk cancellation of their licenses.

He accused a number of leaders from the region of declining to follow the set protocols warning they risk arrest.

On cessation of movement to Kiambu County which is one of the counties in the region marked as a red zone county, the commissioner urged residents to continue staying in the low-risk counties to help contain spread.

He however observed that places of worship and burial ceremonies were fully complying with the set guidelines.

On the exams, Nyagangwa noted that he was pleased that exams had been conducted in a transparent and accountable manner with no irregularity case recorded.
