Billboards were brought down by City Hall officials yesterday in Westlands in recovery of Sh156 million debt owed by the advertising firms.
The county said the 56 outdoor advertising companies owe it money, despite receiving millions of shillings from their agents. “We gave them notices but they failed to respond,” said county revenue task force chairman John Ntoiti. City Hall has intensified the ‘operation clampdown’ to recover millions of shillings.
