A new movement dubbed Mung’aro and Jubilee has been formed in Kilifi County to garner support for the Jubilee Party ahead of 2017 elections.
The team dubbed Mung’aro and Jubilee is aimed at changing county leadership and weaken the ODM stronghold in favour of Jubilee.
This comes after Namwamba and Waluke who recently decamped from ODM and vowed to amass more support for Jubilee in such CORD stronghold.
Representatives of the movement from all the seven constituencies of Kilifi are said to have held a meeting at Rafiki hotel in Malindi where they all in unison came up with a resolution of broadening its networks to reach out the masses in the grassroots in support of Jubilee.
The agenda in their campaign is aimed at kicking out the current leadership of the county Governor Amason Kingi to replace him with Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro terming him as fit for the position.
Peter Ponda a former Malindi County Council Chairman who is leading the movement said they have the blessings of Mung’aro to ensure the county delivers the Jubilee vote.
Ponda assured President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto that a bigger percentage of Kilifi county votes shall go to Jubilee party in the 2017 general elections.
Kilifi County and the entire Coast region are renowned ODM strongholds but Jubilee has been penetrating ground with a view to win popularity since they formed government.
