Boost for boda boda operators in Bomet county as Governor Hillary Barchok kick-starts the SACCO for economic empowerment.
He said the county has set aside Sh10Million to deposit to the sacco to enable them borrow affordable loans for motorbike to cushion them from unscrupulous credit bike sellers.
Governor Barchok lamented that the credit bike sellers impose high interest rates saying that boda boda operators end up paying as high as Sh300,000 for a bike that costs Sh100,000. He urged the officials of Umoja Sacco to manage it well for bosterity.
He also drummed up support his governorship bid and sold the “bottom up” agenda.
He assured that he will uplift the lives of the ‘hustlers’ should he be elected hoping that in future boda boda operators will invest in petrol stations and real estate.
Barchok also campaigned for Deputy President William Ruto for President come August 9.
