In Mochokoret village, Ainabkoi Sub-County, a family feud over a meal turned tragic on February 19, 2025, when two youthful brothers turned against their 40-year-old kin, killing him on the spot.

Preliminary investigations by detectives from Ainabkoi, who were alerted to the incident by the man of the house revealed that, on the fateful night, the father and his three sons were sharing a meal for dinner, when a heated argument erupted regarding the food served.

“The squabble spiralled out of control despite the 70-year-old’s desperate efforts to calm his progenies down, melee that culminated in the deadly stabbing of Emmanuel Kiplagat Sing’oei, 40,” stated the DCI.

“The hope of resuscitating his son died down when a doctor at Plateau Mission Hospital confirmed Kiplagat’s death. A kitchen knife through the left side of the chest had robbed a life and a son,” added DCI.

Upon their arrival at the crime scene, investigators recovered the weapon used in the attack, along with a blood-stained T-shirt, both of which have been secured as evidence.

The accused, Duncan Kiptoo Singo’ei, 27, and Kelvin Kiplimo Singo’ei, 25, have been apprehended and are currently undergoing processing for their forthcoming court appearance.
