Gichugu constituency member of parliament Githunji Gichugu has disbursed bursary amounting to Ksh.40m to students in various institutions.
Speaking in NG-CDF offices at Kianyaga, the legislator said the funds will cushion parents given that the holiday window was short and majority parents could not raise the feeds.
He said they received over 14000 applications in the constituency and they have done possible to ensure that all needy and most deserving ones got the funds depending on stage of study.
He requested the principals of different schools not to send home the pupils for fees but instead give them reasonable time to pay.
On election
He urge electoral body IEBC to allow all aspirants to place their agent in the polling station to safeguard the interest of each candidate. He noted the party interest aren’t necessarily candidate’ interest.
He added that those allegedly damaging posters are interested in metal businesses but they should know that leaders are elected based on Manifesto and now billboard.
