After President William Ruto dissolved the cabinet on Thursday 11th July 2024, the Cabinet Secretaries welcomed the decision by the head of state and the majority of them expressed gratitude to the President and to the People of Kenya for allowing them to serve in the various dockets.
The CSs who were now jobless went on the X spaces to thank the President for the opportunity granted to serve in the cabinet.
Former CS for Environment and Forestry Hon. Soipan Tuya welcomed the decision by President Ruto terming it as anything that paves the way for the nation’s interest is preeminent.
“Anything that paves the way for the best interest of our Nation, at this point in time, is preeminent. I most sincerely thank H.E. President William Ruto for the privilege, honour and opportunity to serve my country at the helm of the Environment, Climate Change and Forestry docket, for the last 21 months,” Hon. Soipan Tuya wrote on X.
“My heart is full of gratitude,” she added.
The former MP for Kilifi Hon. Aisha Jumwa who also served in the Cabinet expressed her gratitude to the President and wished him well in his tenure.
“It was such an honour to serve as a Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage under the leadership of President William Ruto. I am glad that I got the chance to serve the people of our great nation. Thank you Mr.President and I wish you well,” Aisha Jumwa said.
The former CS for Defence Aden Duale thanked the President for trusting him with a very critical docket of defence in his administration.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency President William Ruto for entrusting me with the role of Cabinet Secretary for Defence in the first Kenya Kwanza Administration. I am deeply honoured and will forever be indebted to him and the people of Kenya for this opportunity to serve our great nation,” former CS Duale wrote on X
“As the Quran says, “But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners” (Quran 8:30),” Duale stated.
President Ruto announced that he arrived at his decision to dissolve the cabinet after keenly listening to the people of Kenya and reviewing the performance of his administration.
The former CS for Mning Hon.Salim Mvurya was also not left behind. He thanked the President for the opportunity to serve in the cabinet and wished Ruto well to continue serving Kenyans.
“It’s been a great experience serving the country as the Cabinet Secretary Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs. I sincerely thank William Ruto for the opportunity, I believe with the MiBEMA team we made transformative changes,” former CS Mvurya wrote on X.
“William Ruto endelea kufanyia kazi wakenya,” he added.
