Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) began on Tuesday 1st, November 2016 with two candidates from different regions who were to sit for the exams welcoming new n=borns.
One of them was a 13-year-old Standard 8 candidate from Lenana Primary School in Narok Town who gave birth hours before the exams began, Narok North Sub-County Director of Education Kuyo Ole Saoinah said.
The candidate was forced to sit for her papers in Narok County Referral Hospital maternity wing where she had delivered a baby shortly before.
Second incident
Another 30-year-old KCPE candidate of Bondo Township Primary was forced to begin papers 45 minutes late.
The pupil did her papers while at Bondo Sub-County Hospital after giving birth at the health facility on Tuesday.
The patient is said to have been taken to the hospital while in labour on Monday at 10PM.
