I cannot find job because men in garage keep hitting on me, Marie Buchan

A woman, Marie Buchan, from Selly Oak in Birmingham says she cannot work because she is so beautiful.

She dreams of becoming a mechanic but is unable to find a job because men keep trying it on with her.

The 37-year-old said when she is approached by garages to conduct work experience they are often ‘looking for something more’ and ‘not really after [her] working there’.

Calling some of the men she’s met in garages ‘dirty big perverts, she told The Daily Star that the men are always determined to have her for extra service.

‘They’ll say things like,“What do you do when the kids aren’t around, would you fancy going for a drink, would there be anything else you’d like to do in the garage other than work on cars?”

‘You’ve got women in the police force, in the Army, we have the skills, it’s just that men see us as sex symbols.’

Marie says she wants to try and put a stop to sexism in the car industry and prevent women from being ‘ripped off’ because of their gender.

The 37-year-old, who previously complained about cuts to her £31,000 benefits, is expected to finish her diploma in March and is looking for work.

She made headlines when she appeared on This Morning and said she preferred saving her care worker wages for a boob job than using it for her family because ‘child tax credits and working tax credits pay for the kids’.

Ms Buchan, a former lapdancer, previously worked as a carer to help with the £6,000 cut in her yearly benefits said she realised she was worse off working.

“I’m trying so hard. If someone would just give me the opportunity, I would prove them wrong. I know exactly what I’m doing,” she said.
