Equity Bank chief executive James Mwangi is set to file a suit against Esther Muthoni Passaris for claiming that he sexually beleaguered her.
The businesswoman ignited an online fracas this week when she posted series of tweets on social media that her economic afflictions were consequence of rejecting Mwangi’s voluptuous advances.
Muthini alleged that the harassment took place in 2006 during an event at Strathmore University for company executives.
She added that her communication with the Equity CEO has been muted for a while, alleging that the CEO has not been responding to her correspondence, including text messages.
However close sources reveal that Mwangi is liaising with his lawyers who are expected to file a lawsuit against her for sensual aggravation claims and defamation.
Muthoni is believed to have took several loans from Equity bank in 2006 amounting to Sh60 million which was to be used partly to finance an advertising contract with the lender and finance operations.
With the bank approval for the loan, Muthoni was granted a Sh35.6 million contract by Equity on July 10, 2006 to offer advertising services and an agreement was drawn, supervised by the two parties’ advocates.
Unfortunately three weeks after she engaged the agreement with Equity, NCC barred Adopt-A-Light from erecting outdoor advertisements in the city and withdrew her licence.
And unable to get Passaris to pay rates, NCC turned on Equity Bank, issuing a demand note to bank accusing it of erecting 244 billboards in Nairobi without its authority.
Muthoni alleged that the bank forwarded her name to Credit Reference Bureaus, potentially locking her out of the loans market for several years and consigning her to high borrowing charges, in case she is to access a loan facility from other lenders.
“#PassarisExposes James Mwangi sexually harassed her. James Mwangi hits back #LipaDeni Debt doesn’t get paid with sexual harassment, does it?” one of her tweets read.
