On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Mr. Ibrahim Jillo, the Chief of the National Central Bureau in Nairobi, recognized the vital role of Forensic Fraud Examiners in combating transnational organized crime and money laundering within the nation.
He commended their exceptional professionalism and expertise. During the awards ceremony for Certified Forensic Fraud Examiners, which took place at KASNEB II Towers in Nairobi, Mr. Jillo urged the graduating class to follow the example set by their seasoned colleagues in addressing financial crimes.
This, he noted, is essential for protecting the integrity of legitimate businesses and ensuring justice for both victims and perpetrators of financial fraud.
“You play a critical role in safeguarding public trust and ensuring accountability in both the public and private sectors. By detecting and meticulously analyzing financial records and supporting legal action against perpetrators, you hold one and all accountable for the roles they play in the local and global markets,” Mr. Jillo said
The Chief of NCB also invited the graduates to tour the National Forensic Laboratory at DCI Headquarters, emphasizing that this visit would offer them direct experience with advanced forensic technologies, thereby improving their capacity to combat complex fraud schemes.
The event was hosted by Prof. Nicholas Letting’, Chief Executive Officer of KASNEB, and graced by the Chairperson – Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Mr David Oginde among other high ranking officials from various agencies.
