Cristiano Ronaldo’s plane crashed in Barcelona after landing gear breaks on impact with runway.
The landing gear of the £16m jet broke while touching down at an airport in Barcelona on Monday night.
Eyewitnesses report that the landing gear smashed on impact with the tarmac and emergency services raced to the scene.
The crash forced airport authorities to close one of the runways at El Prat airfield, located a few miles southwest of Barcelona city centre.
Sources close to the Ballon d’Or favourite told MirrorFootball: “The plane is normally rented by companies and it was in use by one of them.
“Cristiano Ronaldo, his family or friends were not on the plane. The incident had no major consequences.”
It is understood that the pilot suffered very minor injuries but no one else was hurt in the incident.
