Clinton in smiles as FBI closes private serve email probe

The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI)  cleared US Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton from any possible prosecution over the private email server scandal that has dogged her campaign.

FBI Director James Comey said Sunday that the agency has reviewed all of the Hillary Clinton emails recently discovered in an unrelated case and that his conclusion in July not to prosecute Clinton after the FBI’s original investigation into her use of a private email server still stands.

In a letter to the American Congress, FBI director James Comey stated that their position on Clinton’s email controversy had not changed from the July decision.

US Congressman and chair of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee Jason Chaffetz announced on his Twitter account of Comey’s communication, “Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Sec Clinton.”

“Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails,” Comey said Sunday in a follow-up letter to Congress.

“During that time we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hilary Clinton as secretary of state. Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusion.”
