COVID 19 CASES IN KERICHO SLOWLY RETURNING, AS GOVERNOR LAUNCHES VACCINATION EXERCISE

Covid-19 cases in Kericho County are slowly returning with 15 cases being reported in the last one week.
Kericho governor, Paul Chepkwony who launched the covid-19 vaccination exercise at Kericho County Referral Hospital said of the 15, 12 patients are admitted in stable condition. He said the slow return of the pandemic is pushing back the strides and gains which the county has made, adding that they have put in place measures to ensure the vaccination exercise reaches all corners of the county in three phases, two jabs, each eight weeks apart.
Chepkwony said the first phase will cover health workers, teachers and security officers while the second phase will cover residents above 50 years and with underlying conditions. The final phase will cover residents between 18 and 50 years old. The governor said vaccinators carrying out the exercise have been trained, with 16 cold rooms in health centres and the county government equipping another 182 centres for the second and third phases.
