Where is she? Detectives based at Kayole, Nairobi are now appealing for information on the whereabouts of 35-year-old Mary Mwende Kimwalu.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Mary Mwende is a suspect in a case of Attempted Murder which was committed at Mihang’o Estate in Njiru, Kayole sub-county on April 22, 2023.
Mwende is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend three times in the chest with a kitchen knife following a heated argument that escalated into violence.
“In the case, Mary Mwende reportedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend three times on the chest using a kitchen knife, after a tiff that sundered their once dazzling love,” said the detectives.
Following the assault, Mwende fled the scene and has since gone underground, making it difficult for authorities to apprehend her.
Efforts to trace Mwende have been hampered by her deliberate attempts to avoid detection. She has severed all communication with her family and friends and has refrained from visiting places she used to visit frequently.
“After the heinous attack, she went underground, carefully effacing the track behind her. Mwende did not only hole up, but also cut communication with her family, known friends and has since avoided places she previously frequented hence paralyzing efforts to bring her to justice,” explained DCI.
According to DCI officers the Immigration Department has confirmed that she has not departed the country, and there exists an enforceable warrant for her arrest which was issued on May 13, 2024.
“The Immigration Department confirms that she has not exited the country, and a warrant of arrest issued against her on May 13, 2024 is in force,” noted DCI.
Records of the suspect held at the National Registration Bureau indicate that she hails from Ikutha in Kitui Central, at Kyoani sub-location.
The hunt for Mary Mwende Kimwalu persists, with the detectives relying on the public’s help to locate her and bring her to justice for her alleged involvement in the attempted murder case.
