DCI Arrest Criminal Syndicate Suspected of Stealing Cars, Motor Vehicle Parts

Nairobi DCI Regional Headquarters detectives, who were pursuing a case of a stolen motor vehicle originating from a garage along Kangundo Road, have successfully retrieved numerous presumed stolen cars and automotive parts at a yard in Utawala Estate, Nairobi.

Three suspects believed to be members of an organized group have been rounded in an operation organized by the DCI team from Kayole.

Suspects, Stephen Kabinku Mwangi, Joseph Otieno Ngeso, and Mathew Odhiambo Ndacha are believed to have conspired with the yard owner to steal a Toyota Allion, Reg. No. KBM 157S whose owner had left it at the Kangundo Road repair shop, before starting to dismantle it for sale as spare parts.

On storming the yard, several recoveries were made. Among them were, eight box lorry containers, a Mitsubishi truck, Toyota Probox cars, and a Toyota station wagon chassis. Along with the vehicles, were engine parts vandalized and tail lights.

The team also found ten registration plates and a Toyota Allion fixed with a Toyota Premio bonnet and a boot. The Toyota was fixed with registration plate KBY 146F.

The individuals are currently undergoing questioning to uncover additional members affiliated with the criminal syndicate.
