The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters played host to a vital cancer sensitization forum facilitated by Champions of Hope, Kilele Health Association, and the Nairobi Hospice.

The event was part of an ongoing campaign to champion cancer awareness through advocacy and education, with a core message that cancer is not the end of life but a journey of hope.

“The groups have been on the rally to champion cancer awareness through advocacy and educating communities to encourage them on the need to know that Cancer is not the end of life but another journey of hope,” stated the DCI.

In a strong show support, DCI officers attended the forum in large numbers to learn about various types and stages of cancer,as well as the precautionary measures that can be taken to prevent the disease.

“Attending the sensitization in their numbers, the officers were exposed to information on the various types and stages of cancer, precautionary measures and ways of dealing with the health giant that is ailing the world,” explained DCI.

Senior officers from various directorates within the DCI  were also present, underscoring the importance of regular health check-ups to monitor one’s well being.

The forum emphasized the critical need for early detection and regular screenings as key measures in the fight against cancer.

According to the DCI, involved the cancer survivors who shared their personal journeys, whose stories of battling cancer and emerging victorious provided hope and inspiration to the participants.

The cancer sensitization forum was not just an educational exercise but also a reminder of the collective effort required in the fight against cancer.

However by equipping officers with the necessary knowledge and encouraging regular health check-ups, the forum aimed to foster a culture of proactive health management within the DCI, ultimately contributing to the well being of the entire force.
