DCI Raid In Kamulu Uncovers 5 Stolen Cars

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has successfully located five allegedly stolen motor vehicles at a residence in Kamulu during a collaborative operation conducted at dawn.

The operation resulted in the apprehension of the main suspect, Salesio Njagi Kiura.

The pursuit of the suspect was initiated following a report made on June 10, 2024, to DCI Buruburu concerning the theft of a Toyota Ractis with registration number KDJ 366C from Umoja Innercore in Nairobi.

“Pursuit of the suspect followed a June 10, 2024 report referred to DCI Buruburu regarding the theft of a car Reg. No. KDJ 366C Toyota Ractis stolen at Nairobi’s Umoja Innercore,” the DCI revealed.

The vehicle owner, according to DCI, realized that the car was missing shortly after parking it at a designated spot.

Based on gathered intelligence, CRIB detectives from Nairobi Regional Headquarters, DCI Buruburu, and KPS officers from Kamulu Police Station proceeded to the suspect’s residence in Kamulu along Josna Road.

The stolen vehicle was discovered at Kiura’s residence, where he was dismantling it.

“At Kiura’s (suspect) residence, where the reported stolen car was found while in the process of being dismantled,” read DCI’s statement in part.

Additionally, four other vehicles were found within the same compound.

The stolen vehicles included; a blue Mazda Demio with registration number KCW 831N, a silver Toyota Ractis with registration number KDB 216T, a silver Suzuki Mira with registration number KDB 308P, and a white Toyota Passo with registration number KCW 346L which had been repainted from its original blue colour.

The crime scene has been meticulously documented by Buruburu CSI detectives, and all the vehicles, along with the suspect, have been transported to Buruburu Police Station.
