The Anti-narcotic Unit hawks have successfully recovered drugs and made arrests in an intelligence-led operation.
The seized drugs, suspected to be cocaine, weigh approximately 928 grams and are estimated to be worth over Sh3.7 million.
The operation took place in Lamu Central as part of the heightened war to combat the sale, distribution, and consumption of illicit drugs across the country.
The DCI has apprehended seven individuals believed to be involved in drug trafficking based on the findings of the operation.

The suspects include Nuura Omar Bori aged 34, Mote Mwalimu Shamuni aged 41, Shamuni Mwalimu Shamuni aged 41, Omar Mohamed Omar aged 23, Mohamed Abdallah aged 35, Fami Abdulrahman Mohamed aged 42 and Fatma Mote Yusuf aged 40.
During the raids, several houses suspected to be illegal drug hubs were targeted leading to the recovery of additional drugs and related paraphernalia.
Muuna Omar Bori’s house was one of the targeted drug hubs where a weighing machine and 5 pellets weighing approximately 85 grams were recovered.
Similarly, in Mote Shamuni’s house, the anti-narcotics authorities seized a clear polythene bag with cocaine weighing approximately 164 grams.
At Shamuni Mwalimu Shamuni’s residence, another polythene bag about 354g of the crack was also recovered.
Another raid at Fatma Mote Yusuf’s house led to the discovery of cocaine, weighing approximately 325 grams.
All the arrested individuals are currently in custody and will be brought before the court for legal proceedings.
The DCI has emphasized that the raid demonstrated the government’s unwavering commitment to combating the spread of illicit drugs, prioritizing public safety and law enforcement.
