Democratic Party presidential candidate Justin Muturi says his inauguration next Sunday as the flag bearer will have a surprise effect to his campaign.
Muturi’s director of presidential election Joe Mathai and Democratic Party Secretary General Shukri Haji told Kenyans to expect a big surprise as Muturi is unveiled to go for the top job.
Mathai and Haji who were addressing the media at the JB Muiruri Centre in Nairobi said the trend of the competition for the presidency will change once Muturi takes the mantle.
Mathai who left the Jubilee Party to work for Muturi said, “The snow on Mt Kenya will melt on Sunday. Expect campaign heat as not happened in recent times.”
Mathai hinted at a surprise guest during the inauguration event at the Bomas of Kenya, raising the project of Muturi drawing support from unexpected political quarters.
Haji said all the organs of the party, that was once led by former President Mwai Kibaki, have been activated to work for the Muturi campaign.
“We are returning this Party to the glory of the days when Kibaki led it. We are going to win the presidency with DP,” said Muiruri
