South Mugirango legislator, Silvanus Osoro has been arrested by detectives at former finance minister and chief secretary,Simeon Nyachae’s funeral in Gusii stadium,Kisii town.
The MP was picked by the detectives from the funeral service where president Uhuru Kenyatta and deputy president William Ruto among other dignitaries were in attendance.
As he was being whisked away,Osoro attributed his arrest to politics especially because he was an ardent supporter of Ruto
The lawmaker recently faced-off with Dagoret North MP Simba Arati at the funeral of Maangi’s father attended by Ruto in Bomachoge Chache constituency.
The detectives remained silent on reasons for Osoro’s arrest but there were claims that they wanted to interrogate him over security matters.
Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi had early in the morning been apprehended at Kisii School while waiting to welcome deputy president.
Former ODM chairman for Kisii Samuel Omwando had also been arrested on the eve of the funeral and detained at the local police station.
