People living with disabilities in Kisii county have been advised to be registered in groups to facilitate empowerment from the National Government Affirmative Action Fund.
Janet Ong’era, who will be defending her woman rep seat, decried the challenges the physically challenged women went through including lack of school fees for their children.
She assured them of assistance if they could be organized in registered groups.
The aspirant vowed not to allow the girl –child education be undermined by lack of finance and provisions.
Ong’era, however, called for the upbringing of the girl-child to access formal education and grow into future respectable and responsible citizens.
Her interaction with the disabled at her Kisii town residence, came amid complaints over non-receipt of help from the government despite being registered as the vulnerable.
