Deputy President Kithure Kindiki chaired a pivotal joint meeting of the Cabinet Committees on Governance, Social Sector, Public Administration and Finance, Infrastructure, Land, and Production Economy at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi City County.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, brought together key cabinet secretaries and stakeholders to deliberate on pressing national issues and strategize on advancing Kenya’s development goals.
The gathering underscored the government’s commitment to addressing multifaceted challenges across various sectors.
In his address, Deputy President Kindiki emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in governance and economic growth.
“This joint meeting of the Cabinet Committees on Governance, Social Sector, Public Administration and Finance, Infrastructure, Land, and Production Economy at the Official Residence in Karen, Nairobi City County, is a testament to our unified approach in tackling Kenya’s challenges,” Kindiki stated via his X account.
The agenda included discussions on enhancing public administration efficiency, improving social sector services like education and healthcare, and boosting infrastructure and economic productivity.
The presence of Kenyan and other national flags in the meeting room highlighted the government’s focus on national unity and international collaboration.
Cabinet secretaries were seen actively engaging, with laptops and documents spread across the table, indicating a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Kindiki’s leadership in this meeting follows his consistent engagement with grassroots leaders, as seen earlier in May when he hosted over 5,000 Nyandarua County leaders at the same venue.
However, the meeting also sparked mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans expressing frustration over unresolved issues like teacher intern confirmations.
Despite the criticism, Kindiki remained focused on the agenda, urging for actionable outcomes.
“We are here to work for Kenyans and ensure that every sector contributes to the nation’s progress,” he added, reinforcing his commitment to public service.
The meeting concluded with a renewed call for inter-sectoral collaboration to drive Kenya’s development forward, setting the stage for future policy implementations.
