In his new role as Deputy President Prof.Kithure Kindiki has launched the First Nairobi County Health Scientific Conference, highlighting the Kenya Kwanza Administration’s commitment by prioritizing affordable and quality healthcare for all citizens.
Speaking on behalf of President William Ruto, the DP emphasized the critical role of devolution in achieving Kenya’s national vision to enhance healthcare delivery.
“Our National priority and interest is to make Kenya a viable, progressive, prosperous and united Country for all its people. Devolution will play a key role in harnessing the realisation of this vision and national objective, particularly in the health sector,” reiterated DP Kindiki.
According to the second in command,the ruling administration agenda for health has resulted to the ongoing health reforms including the establishment of the Social Health Authority (SHA), which aims to ensure access and affordable quality health services to its citizens.
“The Social Health Authority (SHA) that seeks to ensure that every citizen has access to a comprehensive range of quality health services and other reforms in the health sector will be successful, the roll-out teething challenges notwithstanding,” stated the DP.
The Deputy President underscored the need for quality healthcare services in Kenya’s economic growth.
“The reforms are well-intentioned and anchored on the national vision of a healthy, productive and secure population, that will grow its economy and develop the Country,” added the DP.
Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Deputy Governor Njoroge Muchiri, County Executive Committee Members (CECMs), Chief Officers, healthcare practitioners, and representatives of Nairobi City County Government departments attended the conference
As the government continues to implement reforms, the commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) remains steadfast, with the ultimate goal of fostering a thriving and united Kenya.
