Campaigns in Baringo South were at top gear as aspirants staged their last appeal to the voters to vote for them in Friday’s constituency’s by-election.
The campaigns which concluded at Marigat town where the aspirants engaged their last tactics to woo voters even as locals prepared to go to the mini poll on Friday.
Jubilee candidate Charlse Kamuren accompanied by Jubilee bridage asked the voters to consider him on Friday as he will bring development to the constituency.
Maendeleo Chap Chap Cynthia Kipchillat also asked the locals to allow her continue the work that the late MP Grace Kipchoim left after passing on in April this year.
She also asked IEBC to conduct free and fair elections .
Other aspirants who will be battling out for the seat are Paul Motoloi (Chama Cha Mashinani) and Silvester Sergon (Republican Labour Party) .
Deputy President William Ruto gave the campaigns a wide berth as he didn’t attend to campaign for Jubilee’s candidate but decided to send Jubilee Mps to campaign for the party’s candidate.
Baringo North MP William Cheptumo, Moses Lesonet (Eldama Ravine),East Africa Legistlative Assembly (EALA) Valentine Sergon and MCAs have been drumming up support for Charlse Kamuren for the past one week.
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi also distanced himself from campaigning for any candidate in the elections despite Charlse Kamuren who was in KANU shifting camp to Jubilee.
Meanwhile , preparations for the mini-poll are set as security has been beefed up accross the constituency ahead of the elections.
