DREAM HANG IN A BALANCE

The future of former Mau evicts pupil hangs in balance after his dream to join Baringo High School was shattered due to lack of school fees.

Emanuel Kiprono Cheruiyot, who scored 382 marks in Naisudori Primary School in Narok South Sub county, Cheruiyot, who topped his school and Sogoo zone, said his dream of joining secondary School and eventually becoming a medical doctor is slowly turning into mirage, owing to the financial problems he and family are facing.
While calling to well-wishers for assistance, Cheruiyot said that he has been doing menial jobs in the neighbors so as to cater the needs for the family and try to save money for his school fees.
He said he managed the high result out of hard work and discipline and thanked his parents, teachers and fellow pupils for the achievement.
The bright boy said he is fourth born in the family and the other three siblings have dropped out of schools due to lack of school fees.
His father , said things have not been the same since they were evicted from the Mau forest by the government.
He added that since the eviction, source of income was affected and they have no other job to fend off his family.
School Head Teacher Robert Simotwo described the boy as a hardworking and disciplined pupil and asked government and Non-governmental organizations to come to the aid of their top performing candidate. He said he was the bright student and he was the School president  and he get one to sponsor him he will do wonders.
