Matatu drivers, personal car owners, and boda-boda operators have been cautioned against over speeding, driving under influence and breaking traffic laws this festive season.
Through a press statement sent to media houses, George Kinoti warned that serious actions will be taken to wrongdoers.
“Due to increased vehicular and human traffic heading to different parts of the country, operators of Passenger Service Vehicles (PSVs) should avoid reckless speeding, overloading, and driving under influence of alcohol and or drugs,” read the statement send to the media houses in part.
“This includes Boda Boda operators and private motorists, who must equally observe traffic laws while on public roads.
Strict measures
Kinoti further said that police will be deployed everywhere to monitor the roads and traffic behavior.
“The Police and NTSA personnel will be on hand to assist motorists and are under firm instruction to arrest traffic offenders and promptly charge them in court,” read the statement in part.
Through the statement signed by George Kinoti for Inspector General, the police department thanked Kenyans for the support and cooperation they have continued to extend to National Police service.
