A bodyguard attached to National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale was shot and lost his gun on Monday evening in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
The officer identified as Constable Abdi Maalim was attacked along General Waruinge Road at around 6pm by unknown gunmen who shot him in the leg.
Mr Duale confirmed the attack and said Mr Maalim was admitted to the Nairobi Hospital and was in stable condition.
On the other hand, Nairobi County Commander Japheth Koome said that police had launched a manhunt for the gang which they believed escaped towards Kiwanja slums near Moi Air Base
Maalim had been sent to Eastleigh to carry out an errand for the legislator when he was attacked.
Meanwhile, another police constable attached to Turkana Josephat Nanok’s Governor security team lost his firearm during a ‘one-night stand’ with a woman in Nakuru town.
It is reported that the bodyguard identified as Benjamin Lorum Ikokoji, was found on Saturday at 11am by attendants of Hot Spring Lodge lying unconsciously in bed while naked after the night of pleasure.
