The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has nominated Mr. Abdi Mohamud, MBS, as the next Chief Executive Officer, pending approval by the National Assembly.
The nomination follows a highly competitive recruitment process that saw 14 candidates shortlisted from 172 applicants.
“Pursuant to Article 250 [12] of the Constitution as read with Section 16(1) of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2011, the Commission has nominated Mr. Abdi Mohamud, MBS, for approval by the National Assembly as the next EACC CEO,” stated EACC.
Mr. Mohamud currently serves as the Deputy CEO of EACC, where he oversees the Commission’s statutory, administrative, and policy functions.
Additionally the commission pointed him as a seasoned investigator with over 30 years of experience investigating corruption and economic crimes.
“Mohamud is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a seasoned investigator with over 30 years of experience investigating corruption and economic crimes,” stated EACC.
As an Advocate of the High Court Mr. Mohamud also holds a Master of Science in Security and Risk Management.
His nomination underscores his deep expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to upholding integrity and the rule of law in Kenya.
The National Assembly will now deliberate on his nomination as EACC seeks to strengthen its fight against corruption and economic crimes under his potential leadership.
