CS Fred Matiang’i has today officiated the first chancellors convention that was held at the Safari park .This was the first chancellors meeting to be held which attracted Vice Chancellors from both public and private universities.
Addressing the chancellors, Fred Matiang’i said, the purpose of the convention was to share experiences and challenges faced in the university education. He further stated that the government was committed to supporting quality education.
He called for public universities to work together with private universities in order to allow civilized movement in the focus of running universities. He also urged lectures ensure credibility and accountability in the how they use resources.
Matiang’i also said that reforms are inevitable and the government has set reforms in university education that will ensure quality education and accountability in the enrollment of students in the university.
He assured Kenyans that a report will be ready on the 31st of January that will address the focus of improving university education.
