Detectives in Bunyala Sub-County are on the trail of Edwin Ogolla and Denis Asabu, who are wanted in connection with the violent assault of a minor, an incident that has been widely shared through various social media platforms.
Upon presenting the minor at the Port Victoria Police Station, child welfare officers informed law enforcement that this distressing event occurred three months prior at the minor’s residence in the Musoma region.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the minor’s uncle known as Ogolla was captured on camera while manhandling him.
“During the incident, the minor’s uncle, namely Edwin Ogolla, was captured on camera while manhandling him as his father recorded the happenings without an iota of guilt,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said on X.
“The minor suffered serious injuries that are still healing due to a lack of immediate medical attention,” the DCI added.
Additionally, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations mentioned that once the incident was revealed, child welfare officers ensured the minor received medical attention, and a medical report (P3) was completed.
Bunyala detectives have also gathered witness testimonies and have launched an intensive search for the two suspects, who are currently evading arrest and are believed to be hiding in a neighbouring country.
The DCI has indicated that effective strategies are being implemented to locate and apprehend them, ensuring they face justice.
