Erick Kiraithe urges communication officers to work hard

The Government has urged Public Communication Officers (PCOs) from ministries to strategise and package government information well to a reach wider audience.

The Government Spokesperson Erick Kiraithe was speaking to about 30 public communication officers drawn from different ministries on Thursday, during a meeting held at the Ministry of ICT.

Kiraithe said there are many successful development projects that need to be publicised.

“There is a thin line between intelligence services and public communication in government,”  Mr Kiraithe told communication officers

He was flanked by the head of National Government Communication Centre (NGCC) Ms Wangui Muchiri and the Director of Public Communications in the Ministry of ICT Mr Denis Chebitwey.

The Government Spokesperson told PCOs to diligently handle their ministries’ communication dockets.

Ms Wangui advised officers to embrace teamwork so as to deliver in their mandates. She said the government has clustered   the 19 Ministries in five major blocks in order to ease communication flow.
