Chelsea midfielder Jorginho converted a 79th-minute penalty to gift Italy a 2-1 away win against Finland in a euro 2020 qualifier Group J encounter.
Ciro immobile gifted coach Roberto Mancini charges with the opener 59 minutes into the game before Norwich striker Teemu Pukki equalized for Finland. Nicolo Barella’s shot struck Sauli Vaisanen’s hand to gift the Italians a penalty that Jorginho converted.
Italy are now 9 points clear of third-placed Armenia and 6 points adrift second-placed Finland.
Elsewhere, Spain moved closer to qualifying for euro 2020 courtesy of a 4-0 win over Faroe Island in a Group F encounter. Coach Robert Moreno’s charges are 7 points clear of Sweden who are placed second.
