Locals who were evicted from TARDA land in Mumoni sub county, Kitui have accused the county government of donating expired maize flour to them.
The county government donated maize flour to the evicted victims on Monday,26, this month through an exercise that was spearheaded by Education, Youth and skills Development CECM Stephen Kyalo Maithya.
Two days later, residents started complaining about stomach aches while others noticed the donated maize flour had weevils.
The residents raised concerns where Peter Muthui ,a local pastor replaced the packets of maize flour.
The residents are now calling on Governor Ngilu to come to their rescue as they have been rendered homeless and are spending cold nights in bushes they have cleared past the TARDA cut line.
Others have been housed by their neighbors and have decried hard living conditions as some have young children while others are elderly.
