A Kitutu Chache South father has hacked to death his two children and hanged himself after a domestic dispute with his wife over money. Daniel Makori aged 44, and a choir member at a local seventh Day Adventist church, had quarreled with his wife, Naomi Makori, for failure to handover sh. 150 out of sh. 800 she had been paid after performing a menial job. Shocked relatives at Bochura Masagara village in Nyatieko location, said the wife had left home in a huff with the youngest child, following the squabble. Makori,who was a guitarist in the church choir, wielded a panga and went for his children, George(7) and Kayu(5), who had retired to bed and severed their necks before hanging himself with a wire.
No suicide note was recovered from the scene strewn with the bodies,blood stains and murder weapons. Kisii County Police Commander, Francis Kooli confirmed the incident saying investigations had started to unravel the motive of the macabre killings. Kooli, suspected there could be hidden reasons that propelled the father to commit the heinous crime. Police removed the bodies to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
