Basel Kamau Nyaga, 48, reportedly slashed his 15-year-old daughter with a machete on suspicion that she was having a romantic relationship with the teenage boy.
The altercation left the girl with injuries to her arm, legs and head. She was rushed to hospital after a village elder responded to screams coming from her home.
Mwea OCPD Kizito Mutoro confirmed the incident and said that Kamau was arrested and taken to Mwea Police Station where he will be detained awaiting court hearing.
Kamau slashed her daughter three times using a machete on the head, right arm and right leg when she found her talking to a neighbour’s boy on their way from school.
“We have him in custody and the daughter was taken to the hospital for medication,” he explained.
Mutoro further urged parents to find ways of disciplining their children without inflicting serious injuries on them.
