Female police officer filmed harassing a female at checkpoint

Police officers in Kenya have been on the binoculars of citizens after they were not only accused of corruption but also harassment and extrajudicial murder.

Just a day after the new year, a female police officer learnt the meaning of ‘spy smartphones’ after she was filmed harassing a female driver.

Human rights groups have over the years lamented on the ruthless manner in which the police in Kenya engage with civilians, especially when caught on differing sides.

The video footage shows a Kenyan female traffic police officer violently trying to arrest a woman.

The incident, whose video has since gone viral on social media, is alleged to have happened in Kericho in the morning of Monday, January 2, 2017.

The officer was reported to have been suspended following the road encounter.
