The women premier league could be derailed again following consistent financial hiccups and disagreements between football governing body FKF and club officials.
Reports indicate that on Tuesday representatives from 11 of the 15 clubs participating in the women premier league met to chant the way forward for the top tier women football league in Kenya.
Clubs officials are accusing FKF of failure to disburse the annual 750,000 shillings grants payable to each team on time but on the other side, FKF has challenged the club officials to show accountability for the grants.
Club officials are mulling over forming a breakaway league that could be named either Kenya women premier league clubs, Kenya women premier league association or Kenya women premier league teams.
