Five Kenya Defense Forces soldiers operating in Lamu County have been reported dead following an improvised explosive device (IED) along Kiunga and Sankuri road.
The soldiers are said to have been on a humanitarian civil assignment to fetch and distribute water to the residents in the area when the fatal incident occurred.
10 KDF soldiers are now receiving medical care from the sustained injuries. The Kenya defense forces have thanked the locals that offered assistance to the soldiers at time of the incident.
