Foreign powers are using IEBC to see Raila through in 2017 – Duale

A debate on possible 2017 elections debacle keeps looming in the air with the opposition and the ruling Coalition pointing fingers on plans to rig the oncoming general elections.

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale last week on Sunday led Jubilee members of parliament led by to accuse Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga of attempting to interfere with the operations of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Duale blamed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for working with foreign bodies aiming to ultimately influence the outcome of the 2017 elections.

“Raila wants to have a disputed election and force a nusu mkate (power sharing government). The era of nusu mkate is gone,” said the National Assembly majority leader during a presser on Sunday.

Foreign countries were also claimed to be using donations to IEBC to plant individuals in the electoral body who will tamper with the elections technology to favour Raila Odinga.

The Jubilee legislators pointed at one Mr Micheal Yard, an American whom they claim has been in and out of the country masquerading as a Canadian.

“He is part of the team being used by foreigners to influence the polls next year and make Raila a puppet president,” said Duale.

Duale said that he has an evidence to prove that, noting that The ODM leader who was against the Biometric Voter Registration after they failed in 2013 elections was in full support of the kits.
