Former Nairobi City Town Clerk, John Gakuo, has today passed away while receiving treatment at the Mbagathi Sub County hospital, Nairobi. John Gakuo has been serving a 3-year jail term over sh 283m cemetery scandal.
According to prison boss, Isaiah Osugo, Gakuo fell ill on Monday morning.
The former town clerk was jailed in May alongside ex-local government Permanent Secretary Sammy Kirui for abuse of office and failure to comply with procurement laws
His body has been taken to the city mortuary city, Nairobi where autopsy process is taking place to ascertain what might have killed him.
