Former TPF, Achieng Abura dies undergoing treatment at KNH

Former Tusker Project Fame Principal Achieng Abura who has admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), private wing,  passed on Thursday.

Ms Abura was undergoing treatment for undisclosed illness when she died at around 6pm, though early this month, the artist through her social media page indicated that her health was not good and that doctors had advised her to gain more weight, then lose it through exercising.nate that we have lost one of the local greatest

“I have lost 50 Kgs over the last three years. Everything is hanging and week. Walking is a problem and pain all over,” Ms Abura wrote. “Doctor says I must add 30 Kgs and I lose it as I exercise and firm up,”

The former TPF further noted that doctors had advised her to gain more weight, then lose it through exercising.

“It is unfortunate that we have lost one of the local greatest talent. May God rest her soul in peace,” said Susanna Owiyo from Mombasa who had visited her at the hospital.

Gone too soon, Kenyans took to social media to express the pain following the loss, after the news of having lost one of their celebrity broke.

She was suffering from cell nemia

According to Donald B. Kipkorir  the death of Achieng’ Abura Exposes was as result of anemia, an illness she disclosed while he was interviewing her.

“Today, Achieng’ Abura left us. In her death, do we see the hypocrisy of Kenyans. Suddenly, everyone on social media is claiming they were friends with her, Kipkorir wrote.

“Yet in her interview in the Business Daily of July 7 ( my birthday) , she told Jackson Biko (Bikozulu) that she had been struggling for over five years in vain to raise money to take her son to England for treatment of his sickle cell anemia. That in one “successful” fund raiser, less than ten people turned up.
