The move to seek Justice for Lawyer Willie Kimani has gone a knot higher after the suspects to the murder of the trio have been remanded for one month.
Four police officers in court were accused of killing the lawyer, his client Josephat Mwenda and their taxi driver Joseph Muiruri.
Hwever, Senior Sergeant Fredrick Leliman, Sergeant Leonard Maina Mwangi, Corporal Stephen Chebulet and Constable Silvia Wanjiku Wanjohi, the four have pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder.
They appeared before High Court Judge Jessy Lesit at the Milimani Law Courts where they were formally charged after prosecution told the court they are fit to stand trial.
“Bail application of the accused persons will be considered during the mention of the case, I hereby directed that the three men be remanded at Industrial area and the lady be remanded at Langata Police station,” Justice Lesit ruled.
After their disappearance, Kimani, Mwenda and Muiruri bodies were found four days later wrapped in gunny bags at the banks of the Ol Donyo Sabuk River in Kilimambogo, Machakos.
The case will be mentioned on 18th August 2016.
